Providing universal guidance

The Universal Interstellar Representative Commission, or UIRC for short, was founded as a joint effort by the United Terran Nations, NanoTrasen Technologies and other large groups of interest. The core aim of the UIRC is to establish diplomatic relations between its members, and uphold a basic standard of civilization.

To accomplish this, it maintains the following:

  • Monthly representative meetings
  • The Universal Beginnings of Law
  • The Universal Declaration of Rights
  • The value and maintenance of the inter-collective currency: Spesos
  • ...

The idealists

While documents such as the UBoL and UDoR are respected in this universe, exercising any more control is a very difficult task for the UIRC. Beyond inter-collective arbitration, it really isn't possible for the UIRC to actually do a lot more as there is always some member collective that veto's any attempts at actual improvements.

The member collectives have settled in a situation which is less than ideal, but good enough for most.
